It was reported that IPOB members who were having a meeting at an elementary school in the state openly despite being banned by the government attacked the two DSS officers with clubs and killed them.
DSS spokesman, Dr Peter Afunanya revealed that two of its officers were killed during a patrol in the state by members of the outlaw group.
“DSS wishes to inform the public that your patrol team was attacked in EmeneEnugu State by members of the Outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra.
“The service lost two members of staff in what was clearly an unprovoked violent attack launched by IPOB against the team,” read the statement from the DSS Public Relations Officer.

The DSS also expresses its condolences to the family of the deceased officers and assures that the attackers will be investigated and the perpetrators will be brought to justice.
The latest attack by the outlaw group against the DSS shows the renewed hostility between the group and security agents.
Meanwhile, Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu reprimands security officers for attacking members of the Armless group, while other groups in Nigeria that are security threats are treated with childish glove.
