South African Police Service (SAPS) apprehended a 28-year-old male suspect on Monday, 18th September 2023, believed to be deeply involved in a series of Cash-In-Transit (CIT) robberies, business heists, and armed robberies.
Acting on a crucial tip-off, SAPS officers wasted no time in responding to the lead, eventually leading them to an address in Vlakfontein.
A meticulously executed raid at the location resulted in the discovery of an undisclosed sum of money, conspicuously marked with dye, signaling its illicit origin. Furthermore, authorities seized an illegal AK-47 rifle along with a stockpile of ammunition.
The 28-year-old suspect has since been taken into custody and is now facing charges related to the possession of suspected stolen cash and the possession of an unlicensed firearm. While he languishes behind bars, preparations are underway for his impending court appearance, where he will be held accountable for his alleged criminal activities.
As the investigation unfolds, there remains the possibility of additional charges being added to the suspect’s growing list of alleged offenses.
