Who was Ron Kanaka?

Ron Kamaka led Mt. SAC Men’s Cross Country and Track and Field Teams since the 2012-13 season. The 2015–16 season was close to a repeat of the 2014–15 season, with Kamaka leading the Mountie Men to second place in cross country and a 2nd consecutive state championship in field and track. He repeated as California Community College Cross Country and Track Coaches Association (5CTCA) State Men’s Track and Field and South Coast Conference (SCC) Men’s Track and Field Coach of the Year.

He repeated as the SCC All-Sports Men’s Coach of the Year as well. The 2014-15 season was one to remember for Kamaka. He supervised Mt. SAC Men’s Track & Field Team to their 10th California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) State Championship.
