Just when we thought the dust was starting to settle from Scandoval, Vanderpump rule The Season 10 reunion reignited outrage over the affair between Tom Sandoval and Raquel Lewis.
Apparently, the situation has become quite dire for Levis and her family.
Both Tom and Raquel have been treated to the wrath of mobs on social media for months.
But now, there are fears that one of these overzealous haters may take advantage of their violent rhetoric.
According to a new report from TMZ, Lewis has contacted the FBI to request an investigation into the numerous death threats she received online.
The site cites two messages Raquel and her family turned over to the agency, one in which a user threatened to “rip your limbs apart” and another anonymous Vanderpump Viewers promise to “kill” Levis and “dump the body.”
An FBI spokesman requested a statement but declined to share any details about Raquel’s request for the investigation.
“The FBI neither confirms nor denies the investigation. Obviously, we review all allegations reported to us and encourage anyone who believes their life is in imminent danger to call 911,” the spokesperson said.
At the same time, some Vanderpump Fans took a more compassionate view of the situation and suggested that Raquel may have been involved after being manipulated by Sandoval.
“Is he manipulating Raquel the way Ariana claims she has been manipulating Raquel for years?” a Levis defender wrote in a Page Six Instagram post, suggesting Tom claimed he was in in an open relationship.
“I mean, if that’s what he told her, why didn’t Raquel believe him. He took her on vacation, to meet his parents, and they even spent Christmas together.”
The comment prompted Ariana to clap back and refute that version of events.
“Just to clarify – she doesn’t believe it,” Madix replied.
“She told someone, and he told her. Major chunks are missing here, which is totally understandable. They couldn’t fit every single context into the show.”
Ariana had a point, as Raquel never claimed to believe Tom was in a public relationship.
Even so, maybe now isn’t the best time to start a frenzy among social media geeks.
Tom and Raquel have reportedly ended their relationship, but apparently, their inappropriate behavior — and the resulting hurt — is still fresh in people’s minds Vanderpump audience.
Lewis currently lives in Arizona.
Her family said she was admitted to a mental health facility, while others claimed she was holed up at her grandmother’s home in Tucson.
Either way, it’s probably a good thing she’s staying out of LA for now.
