Boy, 17, and girl, 12, die after accident on Bournemouth beach
Police have searched a pleasure boat as part of the investigation into the death of two children who were “seriously injured” on Bournemouth beach.

A police source told the paper: “The boat is under police cordon. No one is allowed to board or touch the boat.”
Earlier at a news conference, Assistant Constable Rachel Farrell said a 12-year-old girl from Buckinghamshire and a 17-year-old boy from Southampton died after being pulled out of the sea.
Eight other people were pulled from the sea without serious injuries and were treated at the scene, she said.
A man was arrested on suspicion of manslaughter. He has now been released under investigation.
Police also confirmed there was “no physical contact” between a boat and any swimmers at Bournemouth Beach, adding that there was “no indication that anyone jumped from the jetty or a motorboat was involved”.

A 17-year-old boy who died with a girl on Bournemouth beach was reportedly on a day trip with university friends.
The teen, who has not been named, died Wednesday after getting into trouble in the water.
Among the group was 18-year-old survivor Lauren Tate, who was taken to hospital yesterday.her father told daily mail She was swimming with her friends when “the rapids carried them away”.
“She was lucky to be rescued from the sea by the coastguard and a friend of hers was rescued by a paddle boarder.
“I know the boy who died went to college with her, but I don’t know anything about him,” the father said.
